I know this isn’t fair to spring on Walt like this but I’m considering changing the format beginning with episode 105. The I saids and he saids are getting cumbersome so I think I would like to try doing it like a play with the dialogue only,
so it would be like
Me: I don’t understand why we are doing this.
Steve: Because we can.

Because I enjoy your writing very much, I say do what suits you and is easiest for you. Just keep writing, PLEASE.
It would be interesting to see how it feels to read, worth a try.
If nothing else it would show that you are interested in how your writing works for the reader, and thats a good thing.

I love your work, please keep writing. That said, I think that you will tire of the play style quite soon since it will require even more work for you. But as I said, PLEASE keep writing.
I do this in my stories, using names instead of the he said, she said, I said. Sometimes I have several people, sometimes a dozen people around all at once, so the he said, she said, I said would only confuse the reader as to who said what, like which she or he is talking. So I personally find using names, including the name of the main character Sam rather than Me.. I would say
Rose: “whatever she says.” or
Iris: “whatever she says.”.
Steve: “whatever”.
Just my opinion.
Interesting, I have never read a play. I guess that shows me lacking in a lot of areas. I can see the advantages. Try a couple chapters and see if it fits. As the man said, “no pain no gain” I am hearing that a lot any more. It’s easy to go back.
Let’s face it, you write and we read, how you do it means nothing to us readers. The fact that you write a very interesting tale is what we as fans want. Do what is more comfortable for you and if it works for you, we will read it no mater what format it is in.
